Victoria Flips the Switch to Start Holiday Season

Cold temperature forced a change in location for this year’s “Light Up Victoria” celebration Thursday, Dec. 4. Hundreds of local residents still showed up at the Victoria Lions Pavilion despite the chilly temperatures.

The evening kicked off with Mayor Debra McMillian thanking sponsors and then flipping the switch on the tree inside the Pavilion.

Next on the agenda was the Holy Family Vocal Group singing Christmas carols, followed by performances by the Studio West dance groups. There were a variety of winter activities following that, including photos with Santa.

Also there were llamas on site for the kids to guide around and pet. In addition, winter games were part of the fun, including candy canes for prizes.
