Three Chaska Gridiron Standouts Sign Collegiate Agreements
Chaska high school celebrated three student/athletes who signed athletic aid agreements with Division I or Division II institutions on Feb. 5. Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Anita Woodrow kicked off the signing event by explaining the timing of the commitment process. She went on to recognize the commitment and competitive nature of the three committing athletes, adding additional gratitude to the football program and its staff. Chaska coaching staff indicated that three commitments is typical for the program each year, and they are proud of this being a great capstone for each season’s efforts. StormHawks Ski Teams Send Members to State
The StormHawks will be represented at the Minnesota State Alpine and Nordic Ski Meets this week. The alpine team is sending three skiers to the meet on Feb. 11 in Biwibak. With strong showings at sectionals, Ava Lappi (10th place, Chanhassen), Freddy Stolz (9th place, Chaska), and Gavin Shannon (14th place, Chanhassen) will be racing with Minnesota’s best. This is the most alpine skiers that the StormHawks have sent to state, a true indication of the growing stature of the program. Storm Sweep Chaska in Boys’ Hockey
On February 6, Chanhassen defeated Chaska 5-3 in a boys’ hockey match. Both teams honored Holy Family Coach Jason Jensen before the game. Chanhassen’s Ryan McPartland scored twice, while each team recorded power-play goals. Chaska’s Tyler Nesheim faced 58 shots during the game.

The Chaska Pep Band, led by Tim Beckler, engages around 60 student musicians at sports events, enhancing their skills with a fun repertoire. Students enjoy playing together, contributing to school spirit and community support through music.

StormHawks Girls Hockey Battles Holy Angels
Though the new year has just begun, the girls’ hockey season is nearing its end. Jan. 23 was the last home game of the year for the StormHawks (7-14), taking on the Academy of Holy Angels (13-5). Looking for better positioning in conference play, the StormHawks were tied for fourth in the Metro-West conference, just two points behind Benilde-St. Margaret’s in the standings with three regular season games left in the season.
