Chanhassen’s 43rd Annual 4th of July Celebration Approaches

The City of Chanhassen is preparing for its 43rd annual 4th of July Celebration, bringing four days of patriotic fun, entertainment and community spirit to City Center Park, downtown Chanhassen and Lake Ann Park.

This year’s celebration, themed “America’s 250th,” will take place July 1-4 and feature fireworks, live music, carnival rides, parades, food, family activities and more.

The festivities begin Wednesday, July 1, with a free Movie Night at City Center Park featuring “National Treasure” at 9 p.m. Complimentary popcorn and movie theater candy will be provided, thanks to presenting sponsor Xfinity.

On Thursday, July 2, residents can enjoy Family Night at the Carnival, featuring discounted rides, face painting, games, a kids’ magic show and family-friendly activities throughout City Center Park. New this year, the Rotary Club of Chanhassen will host beer and dirty soda sales from 3 to 8 p.m.

Friday, July 3, includes a full day of activities highlighted by the Minnesota Twins Youth Baseball Clinic, Taste of Chanhassen, Business Expo, Kiddie Parade, skateboard competition and a free evening street dance featuring Good for Gary.

The celebration concludes Saturday, July 4, with classic community traditions including fishing contests, a classic car show, live music, bingo, carnival rides, the Rotary Club of Chanhassen 4th of July Parade at 2:30 p.m. and a fireworks spectacular over Lake Ann at 10 p.m.

Due to ongoing Civic Campus construction, some activities have shifted to temporary locations throughout City Center Park, though all favorite traditions remain part of the celebration. Updated maps, parking details and event information are available online.

The City of Chanhassen thanks the Rotary Club of Chanhassen, SouthWest Metro Chamber of Commerce, Xfinity, Nicolet National Bank and the many sponsors, volunteers and community partners helping make the celebration possible.
