Eastern Carver County Schools music faculty will be performing a concert for the community on Sunday, March 1, at 2 p.m. in the Chaska High School auditorium (545 Pioneer Trail, Chaska). The variety concert will feature a percussion ensemble, choir, brass ensemble, and much more.
This “sometimes-annual” event honors the memory of two beloved music teachers: Jean Lindquist and Gina Ford.
Jean Lindquist was a middle school band director hired in 1991. Jean was diagnosed with leukemia in February of 1996 and then passed away in March of 1997 at the age of 30.
Gina (Rollins) Ford joined the district music staff in 1998 and was an enthusiastic participant in numerous Jean Lindquist concerts. She began her career as a band director and then later helped build the district’s orchestra program. Gina was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the spring of 2017 and passed away in December of 2018.

All funds raised for this event go directly to the District 112 Music Department’s Lindquist/Ford Scholarship Fund, which awards financial prizes to select graduating seniors at both Chanhassen and Chaska high schools. Over the years, nearly 100 music students have benefited from the fund.
A suggested donation ($10 adult/$5 student/$25 family) will be accepted at the door. If you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation to this cause here: District 112 Music – Lindquist/Ford Donation.
(Thank you to music teachers Paul Swanson, Caroline Swanson and Eric Songer for information about this event.)
