PROP Launches Give to the Max Campaign to Raise $250,000 for Food and Financial Stability

PROP is inviting the community to participate in Minnesota’s Give to the Max campaign and help raise $250,000 to provide food, emergency financial assistance and critical support services for local families facing hardship.

For 55 years, PROP has served Eden Prairie and Chanhassen residents experiencing food insecurity and financial instability. As the cost of housing, groceries, transportation and other necessities continues to strain household budgets, more families are turning to PROP for support.

This year, PROP launched its new Food Locker program, an innovative approach to expanding food access. By offering convenient pickup options outside of traditional service hours, the lockers help remove barriers related to work schedules, transportation, family responsibilities and other challenges that can make accessing food assistance difficult. Though recently launched, the program is already helping PROP connect with and serve neighbors who may not have previously been able to utilize its food programs.

Funds raised through Give to the Max will help sustain and expand programs like the Food Lockers while also providing emergency financial assistance, employment counseling, housing stabilization support and connections to mental health resources for local families experiencing hardship.

“Behind every visit to PROP is a family, senior or individual doing their best to navigate unexpected challenges,” said Christy Nicolaisen, Executive Director of PROP. “Give to the Max is an opportunity for our community to come together and ensure neighbors have access to food on the table, stable housing, and the support they need. Every gift makes a meaningful difference.”

Donations made during the campaign directly support programs that help local families meet their most urgent needs:

  • $35 provides a month of nutritious snacks for kids facing food insecurity.
  • $75 provides an employment counseling visit.
  • $250 helps connect a neighbor with mental health counseling resources.
  • $300 provides a driver’s education class for a student.
  • $500 helps provide groceries for a family of four for one month.

“Community support allows us to respond quickly when families face a crisis,” said Nicolaisen. “Whether someone needs food, help paying a bill, guidance finding employment, or support navigating a difficult life transition, donations help ensure PROP can be there when it matters most.”

Every gift stays local, helping Eden Prairie and Chanhassen residents access the resources they need to weather challenges today and build stability for the future.

Community members can support PROP through Give to the Max by visiting propfood.org/givetothemax between November 1 and Give to the Max Day on November 19.
