Annual Independence Day celebration begins at 2:30 p.m. with Pete Pemrick Memorial Flyover and includes more than 60 entries, honored community leaders and hometown traditions throughout downtown Chanhassen
One of Chanhassen’s most cherished traditions returns this Independence Day as the Rotary Club of Chanhassen invites residents and visitors to line the streets for the community’s annual Fourth of July Parade, a celebration of patriotism, service and hometown pride.

kicks off with the inaugural Pete Pemrick Memorial Flyover honoring the late pilot, veteran, and community leader (pictured).
The parade begins at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. It will open with the inaugural Pete Pemrick Memorial Flyover, honoring the late Chanhassen resident, U.S. Air Force veteran, pilot and community leader whose lifelong passion for aviation inspired generations of aviators and Civil Air Patrol cadets.
Made possible through the generosity of Pete’s family, the flyover will pass over the parade route moments before the first units step off, creating a memorable tribute to a man remembered for his integrity, optimism and enduring commitment to service.
Following the flyover, spectators will enjoy more than 60 parade entries, including community organizations, marching units, local businesses, elected officials, youth groups, classic cars and the crowd-favorite working locomotive float presented by the Rotary Club of Chanhassen.
This year’s parade will also honor Kent and Deb Ludford, owners of Merlin’s Ace Hardware and recipients of the 2026 Rotary Club of Chanhassen Distinguished Service Award. The longtime community leaders will serve as parade dignitaries in recognition of more than four decades of generosity and support for local schools, nonprofits, youth activities and civic organizations.
Twin Cities radio personality Dave Ryan will serve as Grand Marshal of this year’s parade, bringing more than four decades of broadcasting experience and a long-standing connection with listeners across the region. Ryan recently announced his retirement after 46 years in radio, including 33 years on the KDWB morning show.
“Fourth of July in Chanhassen is about more than a parade. It’s a celebration of the people who make this community special,” said Rotary leaders. “From our volunteers and businesses to our veterans and community servants, this day reflects the very best of Chanhassen.”
Free public parking is available throughout the community, including designated lots near downtown and City Hall. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to secure viewing spots along the parade route and enjoy the festive atmosphere before the flyover and parade begin.

Presented annually by the Rotary Club of Chanhassen, the Fourth of July Parade continues a longstanding tradition of bringing the community together to celebrate Independence Day and the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”
