As always, the Carver County Library summer reading experience features great programs and performers, including favorites Brodini Magic Show and Bill the Juggler. Read on to learn more!
Story times return the week of June 8. Victoria hosts a family story on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. (unless there is a performer) and toddler story time on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Toddler story time at Chanhassen takes place on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. and family story time on Wednesdays at 10:30. Visit Chaska for story times on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. There are no story times on Wednesday, July 1.
Welcome Wednesdays kick off on Wednesday, June 10, at 10 a.m. at Chaska. Join self-directed themed activities — new on Wednesdays but available all week. These are available on an ongoing basis during open hours.
Brodini visits Victoria on Monday, June 15, at 10:30 a.m. He will be at Chanhassen on Tuesday, June 16, for two shows — one at 11 a.m. and another at 1 p.m. Chaska hosts him on Wednesday, June 17, at 1 p.m.
Carlson’s Llovable Llamas return to the Chaska City Hall Plaza on Monday, June 15, at 1 p.m. Meet these gentle, fluffy friends up close, snap some adorable photos, and discover fascinating llama facts!


The Chaska Library hosts Story Walks® on Wednesday, June 17, and again on Saturday, June 27. At a Story Walk®, pages from a picture book are posted along a walking path. Please note that StoryWalk® events will be canceled in case of bad weather. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library. This event will be held at the Corner of 4th Street and Pine (across from the Chaska Library and next to DMV).
Children’s book author Anne Sawyer will read her bilingual picture book, ”The Pollinator’s Gift/El don de los polinizadores” on Thursday, June 18, at 1 p.m. Participants will learn all about pollinators and then create a pollinator puppet. This event will be held at Carver Village Hall, 316 Broadway South, in Carver.
Get all the books you want to read and keep at the Friends of the Victoria Library Summer Reading Book Sale on Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Find good deals on gently used books (and more) for all ages. Proceeds from the book sale directly support the Victoria Library’s programs, collection and furnishings. The sale is cash and check only.
Bill the Juggler returns to Victoria on Monday, June 22, at 10:30 a.m. He also will do two shows at Chanhassen at 11 a.m. and another at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23. He won’t be in Chaska until Wednesday, July 15, at 1 p.m.


Chanhassen welcomes PBS Kids on Friday, June 26, at 10:30 a.m. for a family-friendly event that includes snacks, hands-on educational activities, and appearances by costumed characters from the PBS KIDS show Skillsville.
Also on Friday, June 26, there is a Stuffed Animal Sleepover drop off from 3 to 5 p.m. Furry friends will spend the night at the library with a couple of librarians and other stuffed animals having a lot of fun (and hopefully not get into any trouble)! Pick up is the next day at a special story time on Saturday, June 27, at 10:30 a.m.
