Minnesota History Humorous Reenactment
Saturday, November 2, 2024 @ 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM CDT
Join us for “The History of Minnesota in Five Acts (with Prologue and Interlude)” presented by the Living History Society of Minnesota for the Chaska Historical Society’s Annual Meeting program! This program is an entertaining look at history, which made its debut in celebration of the 140th anniversary of Minnesota’s statehood in May, 1998. While drawn from Harriet E. Bishop’s Floral Home, written in 1858, members of The Living History Society of Minnesota, Inc., have made it their own over the years with extensive revisions.
The Living History Society of Minnesota presents this theatrical from the perspective of settler-colonists in Minnesota in 1858. As such, it presents the voices of European-American immigrants to Minnesota. The Society recognizes there are many other perspectives from this time, including those of the Dakota and Ojibwe peoples here long before any foreign settlers arrived.
Due to expected larger-than-usual attendance and presenter costume requirements, the Chaska Historical Society is holding this event next door to the Chaska History Center in the main room of the Chaska American Legion. The Society gratefully extends its thanks to the members of the Legion for their accommodations for this fun event.

We strive to keep all listed events up to date, but event details may change. Please verify event information with the event organizers or official sources before attending.
