Find more leaves — book leaves, that is — when the Chanhassen and Victoria libraries host annual fall book sales.
The Chanhassen sale starts at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, and Saturday, Sept. 26.
Sunday, Sept. 27, is “bag sale” day where patrons can fill a bag (or box) of books for just $5 from 1 to 4 p.m. Anything that is left over is free on Monday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The book sale is hosted by the Friends of the Chanhassen Library.
The Victoria Friends will hold their fall sale on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The sale at Victoria is cash only. Both sales feature plenty of high-quality donated books.
Proceeds from the sales go to the Friends of the Library groups to support their local libraries.
The Friends fund the Lucky Day collections, which consist of current bestselling books that visitors can find on the shelf if it is their lucky day. Summer reading, performers and STEM programs are also funded by these Friends of the Library groups.

It is also easier to leave library materials at The Chanhassen branch with the opening of an outdoor book drop. This book drop is part of the city of Chanhassen’s Civic Campus project. This same project funded more street parking on Kerber Boulevard, a crosswalk across Kerber and the creation of more parking spaces on the second story of the ramp.
