WalletHub recently compared more than 1,300 United States cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 based on 45 livability indicators. Some of the factors included:
- Housing costs
- School-system quality
- Cost of living
- Unemployment rate
- Average commute time
- Parks per capita
- Restaurants per capita
- Violent crime rate
- Property crime rate
The top ranked city, Carmel, Indiana, scored 71.01. Chaska ranked #84 on the list, in the 94th percentile, with a total score of 65.78.

In each key indicator, Chaska ranked 4th in safety, 78th in affordability, 91st in education and health, 284th in economic health and 1,092nd in quality of life.

Other top-ranked Minnesota cities include Lakeville, Prior Lake, Cottage Grove, Shakopee, Woodbury, Savage and Minnetonka.
