Latin Beat Fills Chaska Park

Hundreds of area residents, including many with Hispanic backgrounds, attended Friday’s third annual Latin Music and Food Festival in Fireman’s Park in Chaska.

The evening kicked off with a variety of food trucks and vendors serving ethnic foods. Several bounce house attractions were available for youngsters to enjoy, as well as face painting and a 360-degree photo booth.

The local Aztec Dancers began the night’s entertainment on the park stage, performing a traditional dance while wearing ornate costumes.

Salsa Del Soul then performed salsa music for the growing crowd, with a number of amateur dancers joining the music group on stage to sway to the beats.

Then a big fireworks display was conducted at about 9 p.m., with Salsa Del Soul returning for one more set afterwards.

The celebration of Hispanic heritage was sponsored by Latino Voices of Minnesota, Mi Casa, Chaska Parks and Rec Department, Cristo Obrero Church, Old National Bank-Chaska, Carver County Library-Chaska, Victor D. Ramirez Garcia-RG Insurance Agency and Gina Brethorst-REMAX Advantage Plus.
