Lakeview Clinic Welcomes New Doctor

Dr. Prasun Mandal has joined Lakeview Clinic as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.

Born in Australia and raised in Texas, Dr. Mandal studied chemistry at Lamar University and went on to complete medical school at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas.

After finishing a one-year surgical intern year in Pontiac, Michigan, he spent three years training in a full-spectrum family medicine residency at the University of Iowa in Sioux City.

Dr. Mandal said he enjoys caring for the full family, complex care, procedures, acute care, preventive care, and teaming up with his patients.

In his spare time, he enjoys soccer, ping pong, weightlifting, running, hiking, reading epic fantasy novels, traveling and spending time with his cat.

Dr. Mandal is one of several physicians at Lakeview that is a DO — Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine — which uses a whole-person approach to help prevent illness and injury. DOs are trained to look beyond your symptoms to understand how lifestyle and environmental factors impact health.
