Memorial Day Parade Honors Fallen Heroes

The Honor Guard from American Legion Post 57 and VFW Post 1791 in Chaska spent much of Memorial Day morning conducting services at area cemeteries and one nursing home.

Ceremonies to honor fallen service members were held at East Union Lutheran Church, St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Mount Hope Cemetery, Guardian Angels Cemetery, Chaska Moravian Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery and Auburn Manor.

The annual Memorial Day Parade was then followed in downtown Chaska, with nearly 200 in attendance along Chaska Boulevard and Pine Street. Kids waved American flags and grabbed candy thrown in their direction. Parade participants included the Chaska High School and Middle School bands.
