Looking for Treasures? Support the Library at Upcoming Book Sales

Looking for a great book at a great price? There are lots of options available at upcoming book sales at Carver County libraries.

The Friends of the Chanhassen Library book sale will be held at that location beginning April 24 at 4 p.m. It continues April 25 through 28 during library open hours.

Prices vary, though patrons can shop with $5 for a bag on April 27, and April 28 will be a free day.

“There’s nothing quite like the joy of finding a book that you wanted to read, but maybe the hold line is too long, or it’s coming up soon in your book club,” said Gwen Kuhrt, a member of the Friends of Chanhassen Library group. “With trade paperbacks running around $20 per book these days, finding a title on your ‘to read’ list for 50 cents or even $1 for hardback is a real thrill.”

Not much of a fiction reader? There are plenty of other items for sale, including DVDs, cookbooks, hobby books, travel guides, art books, and lots of children’s items.

Other libraries will also be holding book sales:

  • Chaska – April 25 (2 – 5 p.m.) and April 26 (10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.)
  • Victoria – May 10 (10 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
