Join in on Gaming Fun at Carver County Libraries

(Note: Carver County Library branch managers are providing updates on exciting programs, new services, and book reviews for Carver County Local News. This month, Kevin Spencer (Chaska) shares information for game lovers.)

Carver County Libraries are turning up the fun this March with a variety of gaming events for all ages. Whether you enjoy trivia, board games, puzzles or even role-playing adventures, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Mark your calendars and join in on the excitement at your local library.

Visit a library to check out options for many types of games

Board Game Gatherings

  • Tuesday, March 11, 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.: Gather for Games at Watertown Library Love board games? Enjoy a variety of board and card games provided by the library. 
  • Wednesday, March 12, 3 to 6 p.m.: Grab a Game at the Waconia Library. If you prefer a more flexible gaming experience, you can choose from an assortment of board and card games to play inside the library.

Dungeons and Dragons Adventure

  • Tuesday, March 18, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Dungeons and Dragons Club at the Waconia Library. Step into a world of fantasy. Learn the basics of role-playing while continuing an ongoing campaign. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, this is the perfect opportunity to explore new adventures.

Chess Club for All Ages

  • Saturday, March 22, 2 to 3 p.m.: Chess Club at the Norwood Young America Library. Put your strategic skills to the test. All ages and experience levels are welcome—bring your own set or use one provided by the library.

Family Puzzle Competition

  • Saturday, March 29, 10:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.: Family Puzzle Competition at the Chaska Library. Think you have what it takes to be a puzzle champion? Teams of up to four members (adults welcome with a child) will have two hours to complete a 500-piece puzzle. The top two teams will win a prize!
