Local News Returning to Southwest Metro: Get Involved!

Were you disappointed when your local newspaper stopped publishing? Are you longing for a news source that keeps you in touch with your community, schools and local government? You’re in luck. The newly launched Carver County Local News is on its way to your inbox.

The Carver County Local News is hosting a Volunteer Kickoff at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at A Better Society’s offices in Chanhassen.

The new nonprofit, digital news organization is looking for volunteers to help with roles ranging from the serving on the board of directors, to managing operations (i.e. accounting, web administration, social media, marketing, ad sales, etc.), creating content (i.e. writing, photography, editing, graphic design, asset management) and fundraising.

Carver County Local News is a local, volunteer-driven, nonprofit digital news organization focused on providing trustworthy, reliable, and accurate news for the communities of Chaska, Chanhassen, Carver, and Victoria, Minnesota. Carver County Local News was founded in July 2024.
