Minnesota Valley Community Band Presents Folks Songs from Around the World.
In their annual spring concert, the MVCB will present a free concert with works by Van Der Roost, Holst, Yagisawa, Gliere, and others all based on traditional melodies from around the world and across the centuries. Flutes of the Spirit and the Minnesota Valley Brass Quintet will also be performing on the program.
Folk songs are rooted in the lives of ordinary people and have been carried forward through collective memory. They tell the stories of work, love, hardship, history, and the shared experiences of community to become our shared traditions.
