City of residence: Chanhassen
Professional and volunteer background:
MN State Representative, 2023-present; co-vice-chair of House Transportation Committee; member of House Education Finance and Public Safety Committees; member of House Energy Policy and Finance Committee; Chanhassen Environmental Commission; Chanhassen City Council. B.A., College of St. Benedict. Taught English at St. Benedict Girls High School in Hokkaido, Japan. Volunteer for La Leche League, my children’s schools and the Chanhassen Public Library.
Why did you decide to run for a seat in the Minnesota House:
I ran for the Minnesota House of Representatives to be a voice for the needs of ordinary people who want healthcare that is affordable and accessible, strongly funded public schools, safe roads and bridges, clean water, climate action and an economy that works for everyone.
What makes you the best candidate in this race:
My husband and I have lived in this district for almost 30 years and have raised our three children here. I will continue to be a strong voice for the underserved, women, veterans, those living with a disability and our immigrant communities. I am a strong supporter of healthcare for all, our schools, gun violence prevention, safe walkable communities, good paying jobs, manufactured housing homeowners’ rights, voting rights, human rights and the environment. Minnesotans work hard to afford a good life here in Minnesota and I will ensure that our tax dollars are spent wisely. I will fight fraud, corruption and greed at every level of our government.
What would be your top 3 priorities if elected to the Minnesota House:
1) Health Care for All.
2) Protect the BWCA from copper sulfide mining.
3) Gun violence prevention legislation which would include a ban on military-style assault weapons, high capacity magazines, ghost guns and binary triggers.
If you were elected and could be guaranteed approval on one legislative bill in the upcoming session, what would that one bill address:
Universal health care.
What has been the biggest failure attributed to legislative action or inaction in recent years:
Aside from the need to address the lack of affordable and accessible healthcare in Minnesota, we need to pass stronger gun violence prevention legislation. GOP House members, led by Speaker Lisa Demuth, voted against legislation that would prohibit the purchase and possession of military-style weapons. We must not allow the scourge of gun violence and mass shootings to become normalized in this state. It’s past time to join the 11 other states that have passed legislation prohibiting the purchase and possession of high-powered semi-automatic firearms (aka military-style assault weapons, including AR- and AK-style rifles) that are used in most high-profile mass shootings.
What are your thoughts on the current level of taxation in Minnesota:
Minnesota is consistently ranked at the top for our high quality of life, schools and business climate. The 2026 State of the Nation Project report — which evaluated 37 essential indicators such as life satisfaction, social capital, education, economy and social liberties — revealed that Minnesota achieved the highest average rank across all categories, securing the top position in the nation for overall quality of life. Making sure that our tax dollars are used wisely to continue to fund our schools, public safety, roads and bridges, healthcare and hospitals will be a top priority. I will continue to advocate for an expansion of the child tax credits and a fair tax system — an economy that works for everyone. Obviously, the prosecution of fraud, including tax fraud and tax schemes, must continue.
With so much attention focused on national issues, how will you engage the community to increase awareness of local issues:
I will continue to send out regular emails to my constituents and hold town halls to discuss legislation, my work at the Capitol and the important issues that are on people’s mind. I am always available to meet here in district or at the State Capitol.
