CCLN Boys Senior Athlete of the Year: Josh Schmidt, Chaska High School
A two-time State Champion and state record holder in the pole vault, 2026 Chaska High graduate Josh Schmidt became the most dominant athlete in the history of the event in Minnesota. He is the winner of the inaugural CCLN Boys Senior Athlete Of The Year. Also, we’ve named a number of runners-up and honorable mention awardees from the incredible class of 2026.

CCLN Girls Co-Senior Athlete Of The Year: Noella Ross, Chaska High School
One of the most decorated runners in Chaska High School’s history, 2026 graduate Noella Ross broke the Minnesota State Record in the 800-meter run in her last ever high school event. The University of Iowa commit is one of two student-athletes that share CCLN’s Girls Senior Athlete Of The Year award.

With a Section 2AAAA Championship and the first State Tournament appearance in program history, the Chanhassen Storm girls basketball team delivered the most memorable season in school history, earning the inaugural CCLN Girls Team Of The Year award.

A Year In Review: Carver County Sports 2025-2026
The 2025-26 high school athletics season proved to be one for the Carver County record books. Led by incredible senior classes across all of our community’s high schools, the Chanhassen Storm, Chaska Hawks, Holy Family Fire, and Southwest Christian Stars teams had outstanding seasons and took home multiple conference championships, trips to state tournaments, and even a couple of state records and a state championship.

Seniors Lead Chaska Hawks at State Meet
The Chaska Hawks Track and Field teams sent seven athletes to the Minnesota State Class AAA Track and Field Meet. By the time the final marks were recorded, seniors Noella Ross and Josh Schmidt walked off as State record holders, and the Class of 2026 had written one of the most decorated chapters in program history.

Chaska’s Baseball team won four games in the elimination bracket to force a winner-take-all Section 2AAAA Championship game, only to fall to Prior Lake 10-5.
