Biographical Information:
Norma Ann (Law) Schwalbe, age 88, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026.
She was born on November 3, 1937, in Northfield, Minnesota, to Herbert and Laura (Carpenter) Law. Norma grew up on a farm in Northfield, where she developed the strong values of hard work, resilience, and deep appreciation for family that she carried throughout her life.
On December 13, 1955, she married the love of her life, Douglas “Doug” Schwalbe. Together they built a life filled with love, partnership, and cherished memories. Norma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family.
Her legacy continues through her 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cooking and baking for those she loved, camping, and fishing. Norma also gave generously of her time to others. She served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, was a dedicated member of Chaska Moravian Church, and was actively involved in the Women’s Board. Her life reflected a deep commitment to caring for others and serving her
community.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her presence brought comfort and joy, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Doug, and her children: Charles
Schwalbe (Pat), Debra Schwalbe, William Schwalbe, and Kelly Rushmann (Shane).

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Laura Law; her sisters, Mary Cooksey and Ruth Cornell; and her brothers, Robert Law, Lyle Law, and Wayne Law, her great granddaughter, Sadie Tapp

A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 19th at Chaska Moravian Church, 115 E 4th St. Chaska, MN.
