Holy Family Girls Golf Takes Third at State

The Holy Family Catholic High School Girls Golf Team capped another season with a podium finish on one of Minnesota’s biggest stages, placing third as a team at the Minnesota State High School League Class AA State Tournament.

Holy Family qualified for the state tournament after capturing the Section 2AA Championship and returning to state as one of the top teams in the class. Once there, the team demonstrated consistency and strong individual performances to earn a third-place team finish.

The team opened the 2026 Class AA Girls Golf State Tournament with a first-round team score of 325, placing third among the eight qualifying teams. They finished 15 strokes behind first-place Detroit Lakes and 12 strokes behind runner-up Hill-Murray. They held a six-stroke advantage over fourth-place Totino-Grace. Holy Family matched that score in the final round to finish with a two-day total of 650. Holy Family finished behind state champion Detroit Lakes and runner-up Hill-Murray School while holding off Totino-Grace by two strokes to secure the state trophy.

Sophomore Keira Schuster led the way with one of the top individual performances. Schuster tied for third overall with a two-day score of 149. Her performance at State highlighted the same steady play that helped guide the Fire through the section tournament.

Freshman Maggie Hoffer also delivered a strong performance for Holy Family, finishing 19th individually with a two-day score of 163. Her finish gave Holy Family another important score near the top of the leaderboard, reflecting the Fire’s success in the postseason.

Holy Family Catholic High School qualified for the Class AA State Tournament by winning the Section 2AA title. The Fire posted a two-day section score of 646, finishing 47 strokes ahead of runner-up Jordan High School. Keira Schuster won the individual section championship with 149, while junior Eastyn Cizek placed fourth at 165. Maggie Hoffer finished fifth at 166. Elin Bocks added an eighth-place finish at 171, and sophomore Reese Davies placed 10th at 174 as Holy Family put five golfers in the top 10.
