The City of Chanhassen is excited to announce the return of its 33rd annual February Festival, happening Saturday, Feb. 7, from noon to 3 p.m. at Lake Ann Park. This beloved community tradition brings residents and visitors together for an afternoon of outdoor fun, friendly competition and classic winter activities on the ice.
The highlight of FebFest is the ice fishing contest, which is held from 1 to 3 p.m. More than $6,500 in prizes will be awarded to participants who catch the 50 largest fish by weight of any legal species. Tickets are $10 per hole and all holes are predrilled to make the contest accessible and enjoyable for anglers of all experience levels. Full contest rules and registration details are available on the city’s February Festival webpage.
Families can enjoy a wide range of free activities including horse-drawn wagon rides, snowshoeing, kicksledding, ice skating with your own skates and warming up around community bonfires. Door prizes and giveaways will be offered during the afternoon, along with food and beverage concessions on site. S’mores kits will also be available for purchase from Chanhassen Scouts Troop 330.
This year’s festival will again feature Snow-ga, a free outdoor yoga session hosted by OneLove.Yoga from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring a mat and enjoy a unique and relaxing experience on the ice.
The annual medallion hunt will also return, inviting residents to explore the community in search of the hidden prize. Information and clues can be found on the city’s Medallion Hunt page.
February Festival would not be possible without the generous support of our community event sponsors and partners, including T-Fiber, Rotary Club of Chanhassen, Nicolet National Bank, Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District, Merlins Ace Hardware, Chanhassen Lions Club, Scouts Troop 330, Automotive Unlimited, Carver County Parks, OneLove.Yoga and Vexilar.
The festival is free to attend, with the ice fishing contest requiring registration. For full event details, rules and updates, visit ChanhassenMN.gov/FebFest.
Join us on Lake Ann for an afternoon of winter fun, community spirit and February Festival traditions.
