Local Book Club Selects Book of the Year for 2025


The Forgetful Men’s Book Club based in Chaska has chosen its 2025 Book of the Year — “My Friends,” by Fredrik Bachman.

Runner-up was “The Frozen River,” by Ariel Lawhon.

“My Friends” is the fifth novel by Backman that the club has chosen to read. Founding member, Bob Moeller, said “Fredrik Bachman is probably now the favorite author for the club. We appreciate his keen sense of humor and his superb story-telling skills.”

The book club read 12 books during the year representing both fiction and non-fiction.

The Forgetful Men’s Book Club has six members and has met monthly since 2014 most often at the Chaska Community Center.

The members are Jim Pare (Prior Lake), Bill Johnson (Chaska), Larry Christianson (Minnetonka), Bob Moeller (Bloomington), Ken Hiller (Chaska) and Wayne Ward (Chaska).
