Chanhassen Residents Gather to Celebrate Holiday Season

A new coating of powdery snow added to the festive atmosphere Saturday night, Dec. 6, as the Chanhassen community gathered together to mark the start of the holiday season.

The celebration was moved to the Chanhassen Recreation Center, due to ongoing construction around City Hall downtown.

Attendees enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies, as well as s’mores at fire pits scattered around the grounds.

There was a vintage sled set up for photos, as well as actual reindeer for families to enjoy and pet. Carolers provided background music for the gathering crowd.

Then, with a countdown from the kids, the lighting display surrounding the Rec Center was flipped on for all to enjoy.

Most importantly, Santa arrived at his workshop display for photos with youngsters.
