Motorists along Engler Boulevard in Chaska had to pinch themselves today to make sure they weren’t dreaming.
After months of construction and detours, traffic was finally flowing freely through four newly constructed roundabouts along the route. Crews were busy Friday removing orange cones and barrels that have plagued motorists since last year, signaling a major milestone for the project.
Also, for the first time the roundabout at Chestnut Street and Engler was open to two lanes of traffic all around.
The finishing touches are being completed on the pedestrian tunnels to provide safe passage for walkers and bikers in that area. Officials expect the tunnels to be open for use in the coming days.
