Chanhassen’s New City Hall Opens Sept. 15

Starting Monday, Sept. 15, residents doing business with the city of Chanhassen have a new City Hall building to navigate.

“Our new City Hall is more than just a building — it’s a welcoming space designed with residents in mind,” said Patrick Gavin, Chanhassen communications manager. “It reflects years of planning and input, gives our staff the tools to provide high-quality service, and creates a place for community connection that Chanhassen can be proud of for decades to come.”

City staff members were busy late last week moving equipment, supplies and materials to the new location within the Civic Campus project. City offices were actually closed Friday to help facilitate the big move.

While City Hall will be open starting Monday, Gavin said there is still some unpacking to do and work to be completed.

Residents are asked to call or email before coming by and city staff will be able to provide up-to-date guidance on parking and pedestrian access, which remain a work in progress.

While City Hall will be open Monday, the new Senior Center located inside the building will not be fully open until early October. Programs for seniors continue as usual at the current location at the Chanhassen Recreation Center.
Chanhassen has announced the date of its official public open house for the Civic Campus. Residents are welcome to tour the new facility from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1. Watch for more details as the date approaches.
