No Kings Day Rally in Chaska Set for June 14

Western Twin Cities suburban residents are gathering on Saturday, June 14, along Highway 41 between Pioneer Trail and Hazeltine Boulevard to protest the current administration’s policies. The rally is scheduled from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The date for the rally was chosen to coincide with the military parade scheduled that day in Washington, D.C., which President Trump has requested to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the nation’s Army.

“While we love and respect our U.S. Army and what it provides to the country, we will be highlighting that this parade is FOR the Army and in no way some sign of deference to President Trump,” said Mike Kaselnak, rally organizer.

Local residents have been gathering along this section of Highway 41 for more than three months, averaging between 250 and 350 people every Saturday. Protesters maxed out at more than 1,200 attendees on April 5.

According to Kaselnak, attendance on June 14 is expected to be significantly over 1,200.

“This rally is being used to demonstrate to Rep. Emmer that the people of his district do not like what is happening in Washington and with the Trump administration,” he said.
