Standing at the bustling corner of 2nd Street and Chestnut in downtown Chaska is a little like wearing a favorite winter coat – warm, inviting, and comfortable. If the location and fragrant aroma of coffee at this street corner seem familiar, it isn’t by coincidence.
Jones Coffee proudly opened their fourth location – their flagship store – here in Chaska this week. The newly remodeled interior welcomes guests with a bright, open coffee bar, proudly displaying the time-worn historic Chaska brick walls that have been staples of businesses preceding it, including Dunn Bros Coffee and Butch’s Tavern.
The vintage-meets-modern aesthetic, designed by a local artist includes handmade, bespoke furniture, fixtures and lighting, designed to be contemporary, inviting and friendly. They’ve created a gathering space where friends and neighbors, as well as strangers, can meet and converse over a piping hot cup of joe or Lavender Vanilla Latte while enjoying a fresh baked muffin or a turkey pesto sandwich.
A family business, owners Anne (mom) and Anthony (son) Jones are well-roasted in the coffee business, with three other active locations in the Twin Cities – Fulton, Linden Hills and Minnetonka. They’ve successfully grown the business to include an online presence as well as a wholesale business including white-label coffee for businesses and special events.
“We’re proud to know the farmers who grow the coffee and bring great products to customers,” says Anthony Jones. Their commitment to farm-to-cup is apparent across their business, from how well they know their vendors, whether it is the local bakery who provides their pastries and breads to the milk and cream in the shop.
Commitment to the local community is also important to the Jones family.
“We want to create a space where people can meet and have a conversation,” Anthony Jones says. “We’re proud to be a part of the community.”
