A huge crowd attended the Chanhassen Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday evening, Dec. 7, at City Center Park.
With the flip of a switch, the trees surrounding the park lit up to signal the start of the holiday season. Thousands of lights provided a spectacular display for those in the crowd.
The event included other festivities as well, including Christmas carolers, s’mores by the fire pits, family pictures with live reindeer, and a visit from the Jolly Old Elf himself, Santa. The line to talk with Santa stretched for quite a distance.
Attendees also dropped off non-perishable food items for Bountiful Basket Food Shelf.
