Local cities kick-off the holidays with downtown events

Feeling festive about the upcoming holidays? Chaska, Chanhassen, Victoria and Carver are ready to help you celebrate. They’ll soon kick-off the holiday season with tree lightings, craft and gift fairs, Small Business Saturday promotions and other special events.

Consider shopping local for the upcoming holiday season on Saturday, Nov. 30, during the Small Business Saturday event. This nationwide event happens once a year as a way to celebrate and support local small businesses.

Tree Lighting Ceremonies

Light Up Victoria is Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. in Bayfront Park in Victoria. Activities throughout the evening include dance performances and free winter activities like meeting Santa, visiting llamas, roasting marshmallows, walking along the luminary trails, taking a hayride around downtown, and making a holiday craft. Food, treats and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the event. If the weather turns sour, the make-up date for the event is Dec. 12. For more information, follow this link.
