DESCRIPTION:Bridging is a group of older adults (60+) and high school aged students who come together on projects that benefit the community and enhance communication and understanding between the two diverse age groups. Tech 1:1 is a chance for senior adults to get individual hands on help with “working” their electronic devices (cell phones and computers) from student volunteers from Chanhassen High School. Sessions are 30 minutes in length and appointments are required to assure a spot. A tech “expert” from Senior Community Services will be on hand to help and advise. These items included vacuums\, lamps\, bicycles\, and other small household items. At this time we WILL NOT be accepting small engine repairs until the weather allows us to work with the doors open. So stay tuned for a springtime small engine extravaganza TBD. \nThe event is First Come\, First Served. \nThis is a great opportunity not only to get items fixed and kept out of the landfill\, but also foster community and discussion about waste reduction and the throw-away mentality.You’ll have an opportunity to sit down with a volunteer fixer to talk about their item and work together toward a repair. SUMMARY:Fix-It Clinics "2nd Tuesdays"
DESCRIPTION:A Better Society will begin offering it’s popular\, free to the public\, Fix-it Clinics on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.Volunteers will help attendees fix items that may have otherwise ended up being disposed of. These items included vacuums\, lamps\, bicycles\, and other small household items. At this time we WILL NOT be accepting small engine repairs until the weather allows us to work with the doors open. So stay tuned for a springtime small engine extravaganza TBD. \nThe event is First Come\, First Served. \nThis is a great opportunity not only to get items fixed and kept out of the landfill\, but also foster community and discussion about waste reduction and the throw-away mentality.You’ll have an opportunity to sit down with a volunteer fixer to talk about their item and work together toward a repair.
