DESCRIPTION:The City of Chanhassen is thrilled to announce the return of the 32nd Annual February Festival\, happening on Saturday\, February 1\, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Lake Ann Park. This beloved winter event\, which was unable to open for the past two years due to warm weather and poor ice conditions\, brings together community members for a full day of excitement\, outdoor fun and friendly competition. \n\n\n\nThe highlight of FebFest is the highly anticipated ice fishing contest\, where over $6\,500 in prizes will be awarded to those who catch the 50 largest fish of any legal species. Fishing enthusiasts can participate for just $10 per ticket\, with prizes awarded based on weight. Only one fish prize per person is allowed and contest rules can be found on the event page. Pre-drilled holes and a fun\, competitive atmosphere ensure that participants of all skill levels can enjoy the contest. \n\n\n\nThis year\, FebFest also introduces new\, exciting new activities. Get ready to stretch and relax with Snow-ga\, a free yoga class hosted by Onelove.yoga\, which will take place on the ice from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Bring your own yoga mat and take part in this peaceful practice in the snowy outdoors. Additionally\, the nonprofit Future Anglers of Minnesota will be on hand to offer ice fishing demos for youth\, giving young anglers a chance to learn about the sport in a hands-on environment. \n\n\n\nAs always\, FebFest offers many free winter activities for the whole family to enjoy. Activities include horse-drawn wagon rides\, snowshoeing\, kicksledding\, ice skating (bring your own skates) and bonfires to warm up by. For those interested in trying their hand at fishing\, there will be a youth ice fishing station and attendees can win door prizes throughout the event.Attendees will also have the chance to score free T-shirts from past Chanhassen events\, available while supplies last. This adds an extra layer of fun and nostalgia to an already action-packed day. \n\n\n\nThe festival is free to attend\, but remember that the ice fishing contest requires registration.
