SUMMARY:Art: Chasing Flowers
DESCRIPTION:In the natural world\, a flower blooms for only a set period of time—holding its breath in a brief\, brilliant display before returning to the earth. But in Chasing Flowers\, the garden never fades. Amy Coulombe explores this fleeting beauty through a diverse collection of styles\, refusing to settle into a single medium and keeping the exhibition exciting\, fresh and new.  From the dreamlike drift of alcohol ink on YUPO paper and the soft transparency of watercolors\, to the rich textures of oil and the playful depth of acrylic and collage\, these flowers truly come to life. By chasing the beauty of nature across every medium\, Amy captures the magic of the garden before it drifts away. \n  \nPlease reserve your gate admission on the website. Exhibit runs through 1/6/27 except 11/26/26\, 12/24/26\, 12/25/26. \nShare this:\n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n More\n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…

SUMMARY:Art: Thin Veils and Fluid Borders
DESCRIPTION:By juxtaposing the fluid transparency of watercolor\, the rich\, worked texture of oil\, and the spectral light of photography\, this show challenges the viewer to move beyond the literal. “Thin Veils and Fluid Borders” invites us to look past the geography of the land and instead feel its pulse. Together\, these works create a collective meditation on how the environment shapes our internal mood\, presenting the landscape as a living\, breathing entity that shifts with the light and the mind’s eye. As you move through the space\, you’ll see a striking conversation unfold between three distinct media: the fluid\, weightless transparency of Nanci Yermakoff’s watercolors; the thick\, deeply layered textures of Jamie Lauler’s oil paintings; and the spectral light of Brian Billadeau’s photography. \n  \nThis runs daily 10/3/26 thru November 23\, 2026. \n  \nVisit the website to book your gate admission.

SUMMARY:Art: Stratigraphy
DESCRIPTION:This exhibit brings together two Ojibwe artists who create contemporary work about Native life.  Stratigraphy spirals through the cyclical nature of generations\, land and time. It complements artist Maggie Thompson’s intergenerational collaboration\, Inherited Ground. The word stratigraphy refers to the structure and order of a particular set of strata\, or layers of earth. Geologists and archaeologists alike use stratigraphy to understand the passage of time. The exhibit showcases the way that these three artists conceptualize time: through generations.  In the words of artist Racquel Banaszak (Bad River Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe\, Bois Forte Band of Ojibwe)\, visual art allows the viewer to “navigate between the past\, present\, and future simultaneously.” \n  \nVisit the website for admission ticketing. Exhibit runs through 9/30/26.

SUMMARY:Art: Inherited Ground
DESCRIPTION:This project is an intergenerational collaboration between Maggie Thompson (Fond du Lac Ojibwe) and her mother\, Peggy Thompson. Their work brings together weaving\, painting and shared observation of land. Using the grounds of the Arboretum as their common point of reference\, they explore how two distinct visual languages – Ojibwe floral design and painterly depictions of ground – interpret the same environment.  Maggie created woven textile works using ribbon and beads to create Ojibwe florals\, inspired by flowers growing in and around the Arboretum\, while her mother painted a series focused on the ground\, dirt and earth found at the Arboretum. Rather than depicting flowers directly\, her work centers the soil that sustains them\, emphasizing texture and a mother’s role as nurturer. Her paintings function as both physical and conceptual foundations for Maggie’s woven and beaded pieces. \n  \nVisit the website for ticketing details. Event runs through Sept. 30.

SUMMARY:Art: The Brightness of Being
DESCRIPTION:There is still more outdoor fun to be had this year. Step out of the “white cube” gallery and into the tall grass. The Brightness of Being is an invitation to leave your serious art-critic hat at the door and rediscover the world through the eyes of  Anne Spooner\, Leigh Bauer\, Liya Oertel and Nicky Torkzadeh. \n  \nThis is a curated celebration of the light that resides within the playful\, the small and the spirited. In a world that often feels heavy\, this exhibition serves as a sanctuary of illumination — focusing on the literal brightness of the sun-drenched sky and the figurative brightness of the human and animal spirit. This runs daily through 10/26/26.

SUMMARY:Art: Radiant Flow
DESCRIPTION:Bringing together three distinct voices\, “Radiant Flow” celebrates the movement between nature\, tradition\, and modern expression. This exhibition explores how light and energy transition across different surfaces. Patty MacHalec’s plein-air style multimedia canvases display a classic depth. The organic\, three-dimensional curves of Kristen Treuting’s gourds are stained with ornamental motifs. Jane Johnson’s contemporary paintings vibrantly capture the fluid\, ever-changing nature of the world around us. Together\, these artists invite you to witness the “flow” that connects the tactile world with the human spirit. \nPlease visit the website for ticketing details. Exhibit runs through August 19. \n\n\nShare this:\n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n More\n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Share on Threads (Opens in new window)\n Threads\n \n Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)\n WhatsApp\n \n Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window)\n Nextdoor\n Like this:Like Loading…
