History and Hemlines Walking Tour

Saturday, May 2 @ 6:30 PM 8:00 PM CDT

The Chaska Historical Society is excited to announce their new spring walking tour, History and Hemlines, the Long and Short of It. The new tour will compliment the Chaska History Center’s exhibit, Women of Chaska: Grit and Grace, but with a twist. The tour will be a fun exploration of women who didn’t quite fit the expectations of how women were to behave. Some of the women we will talk about were put into extreme circumstances by the death of a spouse or divorce, some were extremely independent, and some were just trying to get by. We will introduce you to entrepreneurs, hard working women, hotel keepers and a saloon keeper, a few teachers and of course a few scoundrels.
Come prepared to walk and come prepared for the weather, as we will go rain or shine. Some of the sidewalks may be uneven. The walking tour will cover a little less than one mile and last about an hour and a half. The tours will leave from the Chaska History Center – 112 W. 4th St.
Tickets will be for adults only (18 or older) and cost $20 (nonrefundable).
