Fix-It Clinics “2nd Tuesdays”
Tuesday, April 8 @ 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM CDT
A Better Society will begin offering it’s popular, free to the public, Fix-it Clinics on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
Volunteers will help attendees fix items that may have otherwise ended up being disposed of. These items included vacuums, lamps, bicycles, and other small household items. At this time we WILL NOT be accepting small engine repairs until the weather allows us to work with the doors open. So stay tuned for a springtime small engine extravaganza TBD.
The event is First Come, First Served.
This is a great opportunity not only to get items fixed and kept out of the landfill, but also foster community and discussion about waste reduction and the throw-away mentality.
You’ll have an opportunity to sit down with a volunteer fixer to talk about their item and work together toward a repair. If an item cannot not be fixed, volunteers will try their best to diagnose the problem and provide the resident with part numbers, other repair options or recycling and disposal alternatives.
