Southwest Christian Stars Lose Two to Jordan

The Southwest Christian Stars hosted the Jordan Jaguars for a girls basketball game on Friday, Feb. 13. This was the second time the Stars faced the Jaguars in less than a week, with the Jaguars winning the previous game 82-62.

The Stars had rebounded with a 71-25 victory over Breck, giving fans hope for some positive momentum in the rematch against Jordan at home.

The Stars put forth good effort, led by starters Brynn Munson, Marissa Kelly, Sarah Young, KJ Hoehne and Abby Harmon. Freshman Brynn Munson and junior KJ Hoehne led the team in points, each contributing 13.

As a team, the Stars made 70% of their free throws in the first half, and their defense held the Jaguars to fewer points than in their previous meeting, but it was not enough, as the Jaguars pulled away to a 68-46 victory.

While the final score may not have been in their favor, Stars players represented their school well, with good sportsmanship in offering a hand to downed opponents and in playing hard to the end.

In their next home game, the Stars will play Holy Family for Senior Night on Friday, Feb. 20, celebrating seniors Abby Harmon, Abby White and Sarah Young.
