Biographical Information:
Bill was a man defined by curiosity, resilience, and an unwavering love for his family. A true do-it-yourselfer, he embraced challenges others might avoid, teaching himself new skills and tackling projects with determination and creativity. His adventurous spirit led him to explore the beauty and diversity of the United States, always seeking new experiences and stories to share.
On November 22, 2025, Bill passed peacefully at home in Chaska, Minnesota, reunited with family and friends who preceded him.
Born May 19, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bill was the son of Bernice (Noll) Pearson and William H. Noll. He attended Waconia High School until 1957 and joined the U.S. Navy. On September 6, 1959, he married Jeanette Westphal in Belle Plaine, MN, and together they raised three sons: Mark, Scott, and William. Early in their marriage, Bill and Jeanette made their homes in Vallejo, CA and Minneapolis, MN before settling in Chaska, MN where they lived until 1995. After retiring at 55, Bill embraced a life of adventure—traveling across the United States and dividing his time between Minnesota and Surprise, Arizona.
Bill’s life was defined by service. Following his years in the Navy, he took on a variety of jobs before committing 27 years to law enforcement as a Chaska Police Officer and K9 Handler. After retirement he served as a Carver County Court Bailiff and Transporter. His integrity, courage, and sense of duty were evident in every role he held. He earned national recognition, holding the title of “Best K9 in the Country” a distinction that made him a legend in law enforcement circles and forged friendships far beyond the borders of Carver County.
Beyond the uniforms he wore, Bill was a steady presence whose strength made us feel safe, whose wisdom grounded us, and whose laughter brightened even the hardest days. He didn’t teach resilience, honesty, and compassion through words alone—he lived them, every single day. His sense of duty and integrity shaped every role he held, both professionally and personally. Above all, Bill was a family man. His loved ones were his greatest priority, and he gave of himself freely to ensure their happiness and well-being. Known for his sharp wit and humor that could make even a sailor blush, Bill brought joy and light wherever he went. Bold yet harmless, he was a fun-loving soul who would do anything for those he cared about.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, adventure, and resilience—a life well-lived and deeply cherished. We will forever celebrate the stories he told, the laughter he sparked, and the unwavering strength he carried through life. Bill didn’t just live—he led, he served, and he loved with a depth that left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. His pride in his family was unmatched, and his greatest joy was watching those he loved grow, succeed, and carve their own paths.
Though our hearts are heavy, we stand tall and proud—proud of the extraordinary life he lived, proud of the decades of service he gave, and proud to carry forward the legacy of a man who spent his life protecting, guiding, and uplifting others. Bill’s story is not just remembered—it is honored, and it will echo for generations.
