We’ve come a long way in just over a year. Since launching Carver County Local News with our 2024 Voter’s Guide, we’ve published nearly 600 articles, released over a dozen podcast episodes, and built a vibrant platform for community voices—from local leaders and elected officials to small business owners and everyday residents.
Every day, more than 440 readers turn to us for trusted, timely coverage. We’ve grown to over 2,000 Facebook followers and 1,300 email subscribers. Thanks to your support, we’ve raised over $20,000 to keep our pages alive and our stories flowing.
But we’re just getting started.
To truly serve our community, we need to expand our coverage—especially of city and county government, local sports, and community events. That means hiring a full-time editor who can dedicate their time and talent to leading our newsroom, mentoring our volunteer writers, and ensuring the quality and consistency you deserve.
Our volunteer team is passionate and skilled, but they juggle day jobs and family responsibilities. A full-time editor would be a game-changer—bringing sharper reporting, deeper coverage, and stronger support for our contributors.
That’s why we’re launching a bold fundraising campaign to raise $100,000 this year. This investment will allow us to hire a professional editor and take Carver County Local News to the next level.
