November Events Bring Connection, Creativity and Conversation to Carver County Libraries

Carver County Libraries are offering an exciting lineup of programs this November, ranging from global discussions to hands-on art and wellness activities. Whether you’re looking to stretch your mind, your body or your creativity, there’s something for everyone!

Great Decisions: The Future of NATO and European Security

Chanhassen Library – Monday, Nov. 3, 6 p.m., for adults. Registration required.

The world feels tense again and Europe is at the center of many of today’s global concerns. Join Great Decisions, America’s largest discussion program on world affairs, for an expert-led conversation on NATO and European security. With Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine and new geopolitical uncertainties, this timely session explores how the alliance may adapt to protect peace and stability.

Presented by Global Minnesota and sponsored by the Friends of the Chanhassen Library, this discussion offers a thoughtful look at international issues and an opportunity for community engagement.

Your Time for Body and Mind

Chanhassen Library – Every Wednesday at 6 p.m., for adults. Registration recommended.

Take a midweek pause to care for yourself with Your Time for Body and Mind, a free weekly yoga and wellness class. Led by instructors from local nonprofit ONE LOVE YOGA, these sessions focus on foundational yoga, breathwork and meditation. Through repetition and ease of movement, participants learn techniques to calm the nervous system and create community through mindfulness.

Scout Crafts with Cub Scout Pack 301

Chaska Library – Saturday, Nov. 8, 11 a.m., for ages 5–12 with an adult.

Bring curiosity and creativity for a morning of Scout crafts! Join Cub Scout Pack 301 for hands-on projects that encourage imagination and teamwork. It’s a fun way for kids and families to make memories together.

Building Together

Victoria Library – Saturday, Nov. 8, 10:30 a.m., for ages 5+.

Imagination takes center stage at Building Together! Use LEGOs, building bricks and Picasso tiles to construct your own creations. All supplies are provided—just bring your ideas and a willingness to build big.

CHANcrafts: Mandala Designs

Chanhassen Library – Monday, Nov. 10, 6 p.m., for adults. Registration recommended.

Discover the art and meaning of mandala design in this guided painting workshop. Learn about creating welcoming spaces in our community while enjoying an evening of relaxation and creativity. Hosted by the Chanhassen Communities of Belonging.

Parcel Arts: Let’s Clay Chilly Animals

Chaska Library – Saturday, Nov. 15, 10:30 a.m., for ages 6–18. Registration required.

Get creative with clay as you sculpt animals from the world’s coldest regions—the Arctic and Antarctic! Participants can play with their creations or learn to attach an eye-pin to turn their frosty friends into wearable charms.
