It started back on March 31: road construction on Engler Boulevard (Highway 10) in Chaska.
The large project added multiple roundabouts to enhance safety, improve traffic flow and address long-term transportation needs.
For months, the road was torn up and drivers were forced to find alternate routes. Though the past few months may have been frustrating, there is good news to report: construction on the final of four roundabouts is currently ahead of schedule, with plans to open approximately the middle of the week of Oct. 27 (though is subject to change, depending on the weather).
The final roundabout is at the intersection of Engler Boulevard and Park Ridge Drive (near the Chaska Community Center and Chaska middle schools).

According to Carver County Public Works, once the new roundabout opens, the median crossing at the intersection of Engler Boulevard and Crest Drive will close. Drivers will still have through access on Engler Boulevard and right-in/right-out access at Crest Drive and the Chaska Middle School West driveway.
Additional work will continue in other areas of the project, so drivers are encouraged to take extra care in the area.
A summary:
- Week of Oct. 27 — From Bavaria Road to White Oak Drive, there will be outside lane closures for trail paving and planting, as well as intermittent lane closures at the Highway 41 roundabout on Engler Boulevard.
- Week of Nov. 7 — From Crest Drive to Park Ridge Drive, there will be Intermittent two-day closures.
- After Nov. 7 — Bike and pedestrian underpasses and all remaining construction are expected to be completed.
