Fall is here! Here’s a look at what’s happening around Chanhassen this October

Events and Activities

  • Artisan Fair — Saturday, Nov. 8, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The Rec Center gym turns into a bustling gallery with 35+ local artists. Admission is free. Please bring a nonperishable food item for a local food shelf. Quality woodcraft, pottery, jewelry, painting, photography and more. Details. (chanhassenmn.gov)
  • Halloween Party at the Rec Center: Saturday, Oct. 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Costumes encouraged. Family-friendly games and spooky-season fun. See the event page for hours, ticket info and any last-minute updates. Details.
  • Environmental Trivia Night: Thursday, Oct. 9, 7 p.m. Test your eco-knowledge with neighbors and friends. Full details and sign-up here: Environmental Trivia Night.
  • City Hall Public Open House — Saturday, Nov. 1, 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m.: Tour the new City Hall, meet staff and celebrate a big milestone for resident services.
  • Holiday Tree Lighting — Saturday, Dec. 6, 5 p.m. at the Rec Center: This year’s ceremony is at a temporary location while Civic Campus work continues. Expect bonfires, refreshments, live reindeer and a Santa mailbox.
  • Puzzle Palooza: Pizza, Prizes and Puzzles. Nov. 14, 2025, 5–8 p.m. at the Chanhassen Rec Center. Gather your team of four for an evening of fun and friendly rivalry. Teams will race to complete a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle. Pizza and pop will kick off the event. A prize basket will be awarded to the winning team. One registration per team.
  • All Star Day Off! Thursday, Oct. 16. When school’s out, the fun begins! All Star Day Off is a high-energy day camp that blends the best of sports, creativity and chill time. Kids will enjoy a full day of sports, games and active play — plus creative art time and a relaxing movie break to wind down. It’s the perfect mix of movement, imagination and fun in a safe, welcoming environment. Great for all energy levels and interests!

  • Become a Firefighter: Curious about serving your community with the Chanhassen Fire Department? Learn about the role, requirements and an upcoming informational open house at the station. Learn more. (chanhassenmn.gov)
  • Free, Reservable AED Units (“AED Library”): Residents can check out lightweight AEDs for gatherings like games or reunions. The devices include a pediatric setting and Spanish-language option. Watch the short explainer video and see how to reserve a unit. Program details. (chanhassenmn.gov)
  • Hands-Only CPR & AED class: Wednesday, Oct. 22. The city offers quick, practical training sessions.
  • Slow-No-Wake survey for Lake Minnewashta: The city is reviewing its slow-no-wake elevation to balance shoreline protection, water quality and recreation. Residents and lake users are encouraged to weigh in. Survey and background

Construction and Infrastructure

  • Market Boulevard Reconstruction — project update. City Council opted not to pursue a full-scale Market Boulevard reconstruction at this time, instead directing staff to plan a smaller set of targeted improvements. The updated plan focuses on repaving the roadway, replacing traffic signals, enhancing pedestrian and bicycle connections on the east side, extending pavement work north of 78th Street and improving the railroad crossing, with construction still anticipated for 2026.

Community and Culture

Chanhassen Bluffs Community Center update: Council reviewed three schematic options from BKV Group on Sept. 4 and voiced strong support for Option 1, a two-level concept that keeps core amenities within the voter-approved budget target. Design refinement continues through 2025 with construction targeted to begin in 2026. Project update.
