Get ready for a night of neighborhood fun! On Tuesday, August 5, communities across Chanhassen, Chaska, Carver and Victoria will take part in Night to Unite, an annual evening of block parties, food, fun and visits from local police, fire and city staff.
What is Night to Unite?
Night to Unite is Minnesota’s version of National Night Out, a movement that began in 1984 to promote safer, more connected communities. The idea started as neighbors simply turning on porch lights and sitting outside. This has since grown into a nationwide celebration of community spirit and crime prevention. Minnesota officially adopted Night to Unite in 2004. Today, more than 175 cities across Minnesota officially take part in Night to Unite, making it one of the most widely celebrated community events in the state.
Many neighborhoods across Carver County will also welcome visits from first responders and city staff throughout the evening.
