It’s mid-summer. Though it’s been rough for local drivers, progress continues on several key construction projects in Carver County.
Read on for the latest updates:
Highways 41/10 (Engler Boulevard) in Chaska – The first roundabout (intersection of Engler Boulevard and Bavaria Road) is now open, and construction has shifted to the next phase along Engler Boulevard (White Oak Drive and Highway 41 (Chestnut Drive)). The current estimate to finish two additional roundabouts along Engler is late summer.
Recent work has included storm sewer installation, excavation and drainage work. A large box culvert will be installed as a future pedestrian underpass at Highway 41 and Engler Boulevard. Crews will also be pouring concrete for retaining walls, installing water main lines, and laying new concrete curbs and gutters.

Detours can be found on the project website.
82nd Street/Bavaria Road (Victoria) – This intersection will be closed to traffic beginning July 15 through early fall for roundabout construction. Eventually, this project will fill a transportation gap and improve mobility by connecting Highway 13 (Bavaria Road) to just west of Highway 41. View the project map for information about detours.

Highways 212 and 5 (Chanhassen) – Work continues on repairing concrete, paving shoulders, and updating guardrails on Hwy 212 and Hwy 5 between Eden Prairie Road and I-494 in Eden Prairie. Make note of upcoming planned weekend closures, when Highway 5 will be closed in both directions between Eden Prairie Road and the Highway 212/5 split. Use Highways 212 and 41 as alternate routes.
- July 25 (9 p.m.) – July 28 (5 a.m.)
- Aug. 1 (9 p.m.) – Aug 4 (5 a.m.)

Highways 11/14 (Victoria) – Roundabout construction continues, with a new estimated completion date of late July. The recommended detour uses Shady Oak Drive and Highways 10, 11 and 43.
