The map below is found at the National Water Prediction Service, part of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) www.water.noaa.gov.

The flood warning is based on monitoring stations on the Minnesota River. The closest upstream station from Chaska is at Jordan. The next station downstream is in Savage. Generally, flood conditions flow downstream, so a high level in New Ulm will travel down to Mankato, Henderson, Jordan then Savage.

Locally, the Carver County Emergency Management department is established in the County Sheriff’s office.
