Carver County Local News Launches Podcast

Since the Carver County Local News launched on Oct. 8, 2024, we’ve been telling the local stories in our communities.

These stories about people matter because they are important to us. They are our friends, family, neighbors, volunteers, businesses and those who serve in our community. We share news about things that impact us in our community. Whether it is traffic, construction, new businesses, a development or changes to public policy. We share these stories because each one has a real, tangible impact on us in our community.

These stories come to you through the medium of written word and photographs on the internet.

We also understand that there are other ways to share these stories. And other formats also have the benefit of allowing us to consume information while on the go, accommodating our busy lifestyles. They also allow us to dive deeper into topics and get to know some of the personalities and topics in our community.

That’s why we’re proud to introduce the Carver County Local News Podcast, hosted by former Chaska City Council Member Mike Huang and an occasional guest co-host.

Much like we can listen to the radio while driving, cleaning the house or cooking dinner, we can do the same with a podcast. More importantly, we can get into the meat of some subjects, and give our guests an opportunity to share their thoughts on topics in their own words.

As we introduce the first ones over the coming weeks, we’ll be learning, growing and improving right along with you. We’re looking forward to sharing even more local, community stories with you soon!

This week, we’re introducing our first edition of the Carver County Local News Podcast with a well-known voice in Carver County, the former Mayor of Chaska Bob Roepke. We talk a little about the history of Chaska and what could have been, as well as what we should expect to see in the future.

The podcast’s second guest will be Chaska Police Chief Ryan Siebert.
