Road construction projects are impacting several Carver County cities, and thanks to the favorable spring weather, good progress is being made. Here’s the latest update:
Highways 41/10 (Engler Boulevard)
Storm sewer installation and grading continues, as does water main removal. The pavement at the intersection of Bavaria Road and Engler Boulevard has been completely removed.
Curb pouring began and will continue this week, along with resurfacing on the west end of the project. Milling – a process of removing a layer of asphalt pavement using a machine with a rotating drum equipped with cutting teeth – will begin on the west side, resulting in rough pavement for a short time immediately following its completion.

Also, this week, water main work will begin east of Royal Oak Drive along Highway 10 (Engler Boulevard), and sheet piling installation will continue for one more week on the east end of the project area.
As a reminder, the intersection of Bavaria Road and Engler Boulevard is closed for roundabout construction until early June. Plan to follow detours on Highways 61, 11 and 212.
Highway 17 (Powers Boulevard and West 78th Street)
Median and ADA ramp replacements are underway at this intersection (north of Highway 5) in Chanhassen. Expect lane closures through late May as crews continue their work.

Pipe work continues on Highway 11 near Wisteria Street in Victoria. The Carver County Reserve remains accessible from the north. Visitors can access the nature center, campground, singletrack and horse trails, and archery range. The boat ramp will remain open until May 19.
This intersection in Victoria is closed for roundabout construction until early July. Crews have been busy removing pavement and relocating utilities. Review detour information, which includes Shady Oak Drive and Highways 10, 11 and 43.
