It’s been a busy spring and we’re gearing up for an exciting summer. Here’s a quick look at what’s happening around town.

Events & Activities:

April 22–June 20 – Gnomadic Gnome Nature Adventure
Eco and Quill are back! Visit parks across the city and uncover clues in this whimsical outdoor scavenger hunt that connects residents to nature.

April 26 – Garden Tool Swap at the Rec Center
Swap or donate gardening tools, with drop-off the day before. U of M Master Gardeners will be on hand to help!

May 3 – Car Seat Clinic at the Fire Station
Certified techs will help you install your child’s car seat correctly. Appointments encouraged. More info →

May 3 – Arbor Day Tree Planting Event
Join us to plant trees and celebrate Arbor Day with the city’s forestry staff. More info →

May 3 – Free Paper Shredding Event at City Hall
Dispose of sensitive documents safely at our drive-through shredding event. More info →

May 21 – Hands-Only CPR Class
Learn lifesaving CPR and AED use in this free one-hour session at the Fire Department. More info →

May 27 – Memorial Day Ceremony at City Center Park
Honor and remember our veterans during this solemn annual ceremony hosted by the American Legion and city staff. More info →

June 20 – Kids Safety Camp
A fun, full-day camp for kids entering grades 3–4 that covers fire safety, bike safety, water safety and more — with pizza and a T-shirt included! More info →

Fiber-Optic Network Map Now Live

Yard Waste Drop-Off – Expanded Hours for 2025
Drop-off is now open Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. (closing at 12 p.m. on Fridays in summer). Fees are $1/bag or $15/load. Don’t forget to bring ID! More info →

Galpin Boulevard Construction Continues
Stage 2 is underway and will last through late fall. Check the project website for detours, updates, and a new overview video on what’s ahead.

Market Boulevard Update
The City Council has paused design work until 2027 to minimize disruption from overlapping projects. Limited prep work may begin in 2026.

“The Local” Video Series Debuts
Get to know Chanhassen’s entrepreneurs and small business owners through our new video series, hosted by Economic Development Manager Sam DiMaggio.

Community Center Design Update
The Chanhassen Bluffs Community Center project selected BKV Group to lead design efforts and councilmembers and staff met on April 10 to kickoff this exciting project. Stay tuned for resident input sessions later this year!
