CCLN Springtime Art Contest Invites Kids to Get Creative!


Spring has arrived in Carver County, and the team at Carver County Local News (CCLN) is celebrating with something special for the community’s youngest creatives — the 2025 Springtime Art Contest.

We’re inviting local youth to submit original SPRINGTIME or EASTER-themed drawings or paintings. Whether it’s bunnies, baskets, blooming flowers, colorful butterflies or something completely unique, this is your chance to showcase your creativity and celebrate the season!

Contest Details

The contest is open to kids ages 4 to 14, with entries divided into three age groups:

  • Ages 4–6
  • Ages 7–10
  • Ages 11–14

All artwork must be handmade (drawn or painted – no AI or digital art, please) and submitted as a clear scan or photo using the online entry form.

Submission deadline: Thursday, April 10, 2025

Public Voting

Once all entries are received, we will open up community voting on our website and social media. Friends, family, neighbors and fellow readers will be able to view the artwork and vote for their favorites in each age category.

Voting opens: Friday, April 11
Voting closes: Thursday, April 17

Winners will be selected based on total public votes. In the event of a tie, final decisions will be made by the CCLN editorial team.

Prizes

Winners in each age category will receive:

  • A gift card
  • A feature article on our website showcasing their artwork and creativity

All entries will be shared publicly to highlight the amazing imagination of our local youth.

Submission Guidelines

  • File types accepted: JPG, PNG or PDF
  • File size: 1MB minimum, 10MB maximum
  • Each child may submit only one entry
  • Parent/guardian permission is required

Artwork must be original and created by the child. Light editing (brightness or cropping) of photos is allowed, but AI-generated or copied art will not be accepted.

By submitting, families agree to allow CCLN to share entries online and in print for contest and promotional purposes.

This contest is a chance to spotlight the talents of local youth while bringing color, joy and community spirit to the season. We can’t wait to see the amazing submissions – and we’re excited for the community to help us choose the winners through public voting.
