Human Right Award Nominees Sought by Chaska Commission

The Commission presents Mi CASA and Marissa Held-Nordling and Brad Nordling with last year’s award.

The Chaska Human Rights Commission is seeking nominations for the 2024 Chaska Human Rights Award. Eligible recipients are individuals and organizations (businesses, volunteers or religious groups) that have helped the Chaska community in the areas of employment, housing, public accommodations, public services, education or general social well-being.

“Chaska is a place where many people commit time to helping others in a variety of ways,” said Sarah Carlson, the Chaska Human Rights Commission Chairperson. “Often, they work quietly behind the scenes. The Chaska Human Rights Award serves as a way to recognize and highlight the important efforts of these individuals and organizations.”

Nomination forms can be found on the City of Chaska’s website http://www.chaskamn.gov. Completed applications can be dropped off in-person at Chaska City Hall, mailed to the Chaska Human Rights Commission, 1 City Hall Plaza, Chaska, MN 55318, or emailed to Elise Durbin, edurbin@chaskamn.gov. The deadline to submit applications is Dec. 12, 2024.

The Chaska Human Rights Commission Members will review the nominations and select the award recipient. The award recipient will be recognized at the MLK Day Human Rights Celebration, which will be Monday, Jan. 20, 2025 at the Chaska Event Center.
