Between 600 and 800 local Carver County families will find it difficult to put a traditional Thanksgiving meal on their table, according to local nonprofit organizations.
Bountiful Basket Food Shelf, Love Inc., Mi CASA, St. Joseph Church in Waconia, and St. Victoria Church in Victoria are working together again this November to spread holiday joy and support families who are having a tough time financially.
“The need for food assistance at Bountiful Basket continues to rise steadily,” said Patti Sinykin, executive director of Bountiful Basket. “While the holiday season can bring extra challenges for many families, we’re focused on meeting the increased demand and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a special Thanksgiving meal together with their loved ones.”
The five organizations are collaborating to gather all the necessary funds and ingredients, as well as coordinating distribution.

Like previous years, volunteers will be on hand to serve families in need of Thanksgiving meal staples.
Love Inc. volunteers are mobilizing to deliver meals to some families, while others can receive the feast ingredients either through their regular shopping visit at Bountiful Basket or during a special pick-up event staffed by Bountiful Basket and Mi CASA volunteers.
“With multiple options available, everyone in need should have access to a festive Thanksgiving meal,” Sinykin said.
